Estrella del Sur

On thing that did concern me was the journey back and the amount of driving the driver need to do in one shot, from 4 in the morning until 5 in the evening, a little dangerous and we felt we need to talk with him in order for him not to fall asleep. On the up side he didn`t drink as I heard many do.

We went with Estrella Del Sur from San Pedro for $115. The tour was excellent and I would really recommended them. Ask for Abraham's Jeep. Although he had little English, we had some one who could speak Spanish. He was so honest and genuine we wanted to tour the rest of Bolivia with him. When we got Uyuni he brought us to an ATM and waited for us. He then brought us to different hotels until we found a good one. He was honestly one of the nicest guy's I've ever met. Another thing is to have about 150 Boliviano's with you when you cross from Chile for the 3 days.

I can´t actually beleive our group made it out alive. Apart from our land cruzer breaking down, leaving us stranded in the desert. We had new car new driver turn up the next day to take us the remainder of the journey. The only thing was, the car didn´t have any seat belts and our driver absolutly stinking drunk! If fact, he was so drunk that he kept falling asleep behind the wheel. We had to keep waking him up so we wouldn´t crash! He also continued to drink wherever we stopped. We asked him to sleep it off or if we could drive but he refused. Eventually he could drive no more and one of our group took over. Although we had to keep waking the driver up whenever there was a juction or a fork in the road so we wouldn´t get lost. I have never experiance anything like it. Maybe we have a bad driver (his name was edga) and we were unlucky but i would never use this company again. My life and friends lives are just too important to me.
